Description:
London has been designated a Low Carbon Economic Area (LCEA) and Bromley home owners are being recommended to fit energy saving measures wherever possible. Loft insulation and cavity wall insulation are two suggestions being touted.
The concept of an LCEA is for different areas of the UK to specialise in varied forms of low carbon technology. The first LCEA in the UK was designated as the South West who were designated as wave power specialists. London, including the London Borough of Bromley, has been designated an LCEA for energy efficient buildings, hence the encouragement to retrofit energy saving improvements in Bromley homes. London is the seventh area to be given LCEA status.
Initially the status will include projects, which have been designed by the Regional Development Agencies who have allocated £90 million to spend on them.
