Charles Darwin School in Biggin Hill are launching a ‘Sixth Form Football Academy’ this September in conjunction with Whyteleafe Football Club. The course will be run by former Charles Darwin pupil, Joe Dolan, who was a professional footballer with Millwall FC for seven years and who also represented Northern Ireland at under 21 level.
The course will make use of the excellent facilities at the school, including grass and astro-turf pitches, sports hall and gym & fitness suite and will include daily training and weekly fixtures to coincide with flexible A Level and BTEC choices. The course will include personal profiles and match analysis to take place after fixtures played in the Ryman and Ryman Youth leagues, Combined Counties Leagues or the ECL or KSFA Leagues.
The qualifications from the course will include:
- BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Sport
- Level 1 FA Coaching Award
- CSLA and HSLA Leadership Awards
- First Aid Certificate
- Flexible A Level and BTEC pathways
