What’s on in and around Bromley this weekend?

It’s a busy weekend in the London Borough of Bromley!  Have a cultured day on Friday with a visit to two art exhibitions, followed by a Saturday hunting for bargains whilst raising money for good causes.  Saturday night take the opportunity to see a rarely seen Gilbert & Sullivan production at the Churchill Theatre.  Sunday is active day!  Learn a bit about Bromley’s biodiversity before taking part in the Bromley Sport Relief Mile at Norman Park.

Friday 19^th March

• Me Myself and I – Head over to the Bethlem Gallery to see art based on self expression.  Artists are Dan Duggan, Jonathan Lill and Lisa Biles.

• Orpington’s New Buildings in Art – Orpington has had a number of new buildings spring up in recent months, see local artist Stephen Chaplin’s take on them at the Bromley Museum.

Saturday 20^th March

• Careplus Coffee Morning – Come along to Bromley United Reformed Church for a coffee morning in aid of Careplus, Bromley’s older people charity.  Homemade cakes, bring and buy, a book sale, toy sale and a raffle will all be on offer.
• Scout Jumble Sale – The 23^rd Bromley Scouts Troop will be putting on its bi-annual jumble sale which will take place at St Augustine’s Church in Bromley.  Hot and cold refreshments will also be on offer.
• The Sorcerer -  The second of two showings of Gilbert & Sullivan’s rarely seen operetta.  The setting has been changed from Victorian times to 1970’s Britain making this Opera della Luna production at the Churchill Theatre a must see!

Sunday 21^st March

• Ponds, People and Pond life – Jubilee Park is the setting for a talk by Bromley Countryside Officers as to the importance of pond life in Bromley.  Find out about creating your own wildlife pond.
• Sport Relief – The Bromley Mile – The Bromley mile is one of hundreds events taking place around the country in aid of Sport Relief.  Enter on the day at Norman Park and raise money for good causes around the world.
