Star of the Churchill Theatre Bromley’s pantomime, Barney Harwood, will be hosting this year’s Children’s BAFTA Awards on Sunday 27 November. Appearing in Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs from Friday 2 December until Sunday 8 January, Barney Harwood will be taking a day off from rehearsals to host this star-studded event.
The Children’s BAFTA Awards celebrate the best in children's media including television, film, video games and online content. This year, shows nominated include the CBBC drama Just William, which is nominated for three different awards – including Best Drama. Horrible Histories is up for four awards. This year's awards also offers four prizes voted for by children aged between seven and 14 years in film, television programme, website and video game categories.
Barney Harwood has been entertaining the nation’s children for almost ten years! Before becoming the newest addition to the Blue Peter family in January 2011, Barney worked on a huge variety of children’s shows – from Basil Brush’s co-presenter on Basil Brush’s Swap Shop to presenting Prank Patrol and Smile, and starring in Bear Behaving Badly. He has also travelled the world to present Barney’s Barrier Reef and Barney’s Costa Rica as well as presenting CBBC and co-hosting Planet Pop with June Sarpong, among many other credits.
Barney Harwood will join co-stars Patsy Kensit, Sarah Lark and David Spinx in this year’s all-star pantomime Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs. Speaking about appearing in this year’s pantomime, Blue Peter presenter Barney Harwood said: “I am so excited to star in the Churchill Theatre’s pantomime! I can’t wait to hear the crowds cheering, screaming, booing and hissing this Christmas. I’m already feeling festive! See you all in December!”
