Bromley Property, Buyers Reluctance Over Rising Asking Prices

18 February 2010

Description:

Potential house buyers in Bromley are increasingly reluctant to meet consistently rising asking prices which are currently prevalent in the area.  Whilst estate agents are seeing a rise in potential buyers, at this time this is not being followed by an increase in the value of the final transaction.  This is also at a time when the number of properties on the market has increased by around 20 per cent.

Haart Estate agent’s Managing Director, Russell Jervis, advises that whilst potential buyers are keen to make offers on properties, these offers can be anything up to 8% below the original desired price of the seller.

According to the latest news from Rightmove, Bromley and the rest of Greater London saw a huge increase of 10.3 per cent on asking prices in February, comparing month on month figures.  This is against an average increase of 3.2 per cent nationwide for February and a 6.1 per cent increase in the last 12 months.  Average asking prices in the Greater London area stand at £427,987 against a national average of £229,398.
