Annie at Churchill Theatre, Bromley

28 September 2010

Description:

THE SUN WILL COME OUT TOMORROW WITH ANNIE AT CHURCHILL THEATRE BROMLEY!

Everybody’s favourite orphan ANNIE will be bringing her heart-warming show to Churchill Theatre Bromley from Monday 18 to Saturday 23 October. With an all-star cast including SU POLLARD and DAVID MCALISTER, this award-winning musical will enchant its audience with singing, dancing and stunning acting.

One of the most successful musicals of all time, this endearing tale of little orphan Annie is back. Annie is a gutsy 11 year old who, being left on the doorstep of a New York City orphanage run by the cruel and crooked Miss Hannigan, is determined to find her real parents. Never giving up hope, Annie foils the evil plans of dastardly Miss Hannigan, going on an adventure to find her home.

SU POLLARD stars as Miss Hannigan. Su is one of the most flamboyant actresses of our time, most famous for her roles in the sitcoms Hi-De-Hi! and You Rang, M’Lord? Su will bring her sensational singing voice and huge stage presence to the role of the much-feared Miss Hannigan, making her more villainous than ever before!

Joining Su is DAVID MCALISTER, best known for his role as the drunken Dennis Richardson on Hollyoaks, who will be starring as Daddy Warbucks, and AUDREY LEYBOURNE who plays Mrs Pugh. Audrey is an ex- Roly Poly who, even at the very advanced age of 80, is still appearing on stage every night and loving it! Finally, NICKI FRENCH plays Mrs Greer. Nicki is well known for representing the United Kingdom at the 2000 Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm, as well as for her dance remix of Total Eclipse Of The Heart released in 1995.

Winner of no less than 9 Tony Awards over the years, including Best Musical, ANNIE is a theatrical experience that will delight the entire family. ANNIE also boasts one of Broadway’s most memorable scores, including It’s A Hard-Knock Life, Easy Street, N.Y.C. and arguably the best musical song of all-time, the ever-optimistic Tomorrow.

Described as ‘one of the most enchanting musicals I have ever seen’ by Sunday Times and ‘a truly magical night’ by Southampton Echo, don’t miss your chance to see this sensational performance.
