Description:
Bromley Council have unanimously approved the plans submitted for a 92 bed hotel in London Road, north of Bromley town centre. The plans, submitted jointly by Skillcrown Homes and Travelodge, detailed that construction will begin very shortly on the development which also includes a shop, and that the hotel is expected to be open in early 2012.
Travelodge has a company goal to be the biggest hotel company in London by the time the Olympics arrive in 2012, with more than 7,000 bedrooms available. Tony O’Brien, the UK Planning Director for Travelodge, explained why Bromley was a natural selection for their expansion, and why the town may see more Travelodge hotels in the future.
“Despite being a location that is perfect for both business and leisure travellers, Bromley has a shortage of hotel rooms. We have long-wanted a site in the town and ideally will locate another one soon.”
