From Tuesday 28 September to Saturday 2 October, Simon Callow will be starring in SHAKESPEARE – THE MAN FROM STRATFORD at Churchill Theatre Bromley. This sensational play, one part biography, one part theatrical odyssey, explores the life of the greatest writer the world has ever known – William Shakespeare.

In this dramatic tour-de-force, Simon Callow tracks down what we know of the real William Shakespeare, bringing to life both the man and the unforgettable characters who have since conquered the world’s stages. Commanding the stage in this powerful one-man show, Callow “is an absolute master” (The Mirror).

Simon Callow has had a long and successful career in theatre, film and television – from famous films such as Four Weddings And A Funeral, Shakespeare In Love and Amadeus to directing films with the Royal Shakespeare Company. He is one of the most influential actors Britain has ever seen.

Following the world-wide success of The Mystery Of Charles Dickens, Callow joins forces with Jonathan Bate, pre-eminent Shakespeare biographer and editor of the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Shakespeare: The Complete Works, to fill the stage with Shakespeare’s real and imagined worlds.

Opening at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival to rave reviews in August, this intimate performance from one of Britain’s greatest actors will mesmerise audiences as much as the Bard’s beautiful words.

Simon Callow will be signing copies of his latest book, My Life In Pieces, at Churchill Theatre Bromley on Tuesday 28 September after the show, and on Thursday 30 September and Saturday 2 October after his matinee performance.
