What's on in Bromley this Weekend?

13 August 2010

Description:

What’s on in the London Borough of Bromley this weekend?

For theatre buffs there is the Beckenham Theatre Centre’s production of ‘The Country Wife’, the world renowned Restoration Comedy telling the story of a notorious man about town and his scheme to seduce the women of London society.  The production is on Friday and Saturday nights.

If music is more your scene, then don’t forget Farnborough Jazz Club tonight and every Friday night at the Farnborough Sports Club in the High Street.  Listen to the music or join in with the dancing!

For the kids Stay Safe Week continues at Leamington Avenue Playground in Green Street Green on Friday, St Edwards Church in Mottingham on Saturday before ending at Downe Recreation Ground on Sunday.   Join in with activities such as arts & crafts, music bus and football coaches.  See the links below for more details on each day.

For the younger kids don’t miss Space Hop Chatterbooks Reading Group at Beckenham Library, part of the Summer Reading Challenge in Bromley Borough.  This Saturday session is suitable for kids between the ages of eight and twelve.

The big event this Saturday for young and old is of course Leefest 2010.  Created in a youngsters back garden when his parents went away on holiday, this festival has gone from strength.  This year it has had to move to a bigger venue at Highams Hill Farm in Sheepbarn Lane and it is offering camping for the very first time for what is expected to be a crowd in excess of 1,500 people watching a line up of acts which are headlined by The Futureheads!

Sunday is a day of rest but it is also a nice day for a relaxing walk around the countryside of Bromley, this Sunday you have a couple of options.  The Nash Circular is a walk around the often forgotten hamlet of Nash, a beautiful little area near to Keston and Leaves Green.

The second option is a Butterfly Walk at High Elms Country Park.  Take your chance to see the butterflies residing in the woods and chalk grassland.

Enjoy your Bromley weekend!
