What’s on in and around Bromley this weekend?
Adventure week continues today at Farnborough Recreation Ground. From midday up until 5pm there will be a host of activities on offer for 8 to 19 year olds, including an army assault course, football coaching, nail art as well as a music bus.
An exhibition by the English Youth ballet opened on Wednesday and will continue at Bromley Library until 11th August, ahead of their performance of The Nutcracker on 20th and 21st August. This exhibition runs alongside the Exhibition of Paintings and Sculpture by “Thursdays” which is also on show at the library and runs until 11th August also.
Tonight is Farnborough Jazz Club night, enjoy an evening of jazz and dancing at Farnborough Sports Club.
Join the friends of Darrick and Newstead woods on Saturday on their Beautiful Butterflies event. Seek out and learn more about the butterflies that dwell in this local nature reserve.
Adventure week moves to both Biggin Hill Recreation Ground, with events such as basketball, skateboarding and a climbing wall, as well as Penge Recreation Ground which also is providing a climbing wall coupled with football coaching. Activities will run at both venues until 7pm.
The main event taking place this weekend is the Arts Lab Festival which will be at the amphitheatre in Church House Gardens. Featuring the bands Jane Smith, Hello Mexico, Richard Maddy Cojak and Bill Browns Band, the day showcases local talent selected by Ascape Studios and Purple Sky.
If you are a fan of the Psychic Channel on Sky channel 886 then you’re in for a treat! Chislehurst Library hosts a Psychic Surgery with Sky TV Psychics on Saturday afternoon. Be prepared to be wowed and hear validation after validation from the recognised psychic industry experts.
For those less curious about their future, Chislehurst Active Age Centre in the High Street will be holding a Flowers for All Open Afternoon. Learn how to arrange flowers accompanied by free tea, coffee and biscuits.
The 1st of August opens up with a Wool Spinning Demonstration at High Elms. Learn how to spin and dye wool accompanied by how to guides to take away.
For those early risers, at 9am on Sunday there will be a Bird Walk at Crystal Palace Park. Join the Crystal Palace Park Rangers as you look for and learn more about the bird species on display.
