What’s on in Bromley this weekend?!
The Invaders of Bromley exhibition continues at the Bromley Museum. Find out about the various attempts to ‘conquer’ Bromley over the centuries including the Romans, Anglo-Saxons, Normans and the Nazis.
Probably one for the older generations this! As part of their regular coffee mornings, Petts Wood Library will be hosting a talk on Vintage Knits by local knitting expert Sara Kotch. Refreshments will be on hand as will original examples and patterns.
On Saturday and Sunday of this weekend, there is a rare chance to see one of Bromley’s most treasured Roman historical sites at the Roman Bath House Open Day at the bath house just off of Poverest Road in Orpington. The site is also home to an Anglo-Saxon cemetery. There will be an archaeology trail laid out to help you find your way around the site which will also have lots of other fun activities laid out.
Saturday sees the fete season continue with the annual Orpington town fete. There will be street entertainment including balloon modelling, face painting, stilt walking as well as music and the usual array of stalls.
Sunday gives you another chance to see how the Victorians stored their food before the days of electrically powered refrigeration in another Ice Well Tour at High Elms Country Park.
