Description:
It’s High School Musical weekend in Bromley this week as the world wide phenomenon comes to the Churchill Theatre. There’s still a chance to catch the Disney hit on Friday and Saturday!
2010 is the International Year of Biodiversity, and it has brought a number of events to Bromley Borough. The Zig Zag Wildlife Walk starts at Mason’s Hill and takes you through the wilder side of Bromley, still within a stone’s throw of the town centre.
Saturday provides a sedate option for the weekend as the friends of Hayes and Keston ‘Celebrate Hayes & Keston Local Nature Reserve’. There will be scavenger hunts, nature quizzes and face painting, amongst other things.
The nature theme is continued into Sunday with two events out in the Bromley Borough countryside. Identifying Bumblebees is an informal training session taking place at Jubilee Country Park, where you can meet and chat with a bumblebee expert to find out more about these fascinating insects.
Alternatively, visit High Elms Country Park on Sunday morning to join in with Moth Morning, a chance to see moths close up and study them alongside local experts.
The Big Lunch is a national campaign, encouraging people to organise events down their street to give them an opportunity to meet their neighbours. Lunch with the Pope takes place in Bromley Common and gives the residents of Pope Road and Chatterton Village the opportunity to meet up and have an afternoon with their neighbours. Including Magicians, dancing, live music and a raffle amongst a host of other activities it promises to be a fun afternoon!
