Langley Park School for Boys in Beckenham has got the go ahead to commence with a £37 million redevelopment project, despite the new coalition Government scrapping the Labour Government’s ‘Building Schools for the Future' programme.

Five other schools in the London Borough of Bromley were not so lucky, as these cuts have meant that funding principally agreed for the 2010-2011 academic year will now not be available, this includes Kelsey Park Sports College.

The plans for Langley Park School for Boys project is a complete rebuild of the school and is exempt from the cuts along with a number of other schools around the UK where funds have been earmarked for rebuilding.  The plans for the new school include classrooms with the latest in modern technology as well as improved sport facilities and a concert hall.

The project is due to start on 15^th July 2010 and will be marked with a ceremony.
