Description:
Kelsey Park is a large area of outstanding natural beauty in Beckenham and one of the best maintained outside areas in the London Borough of Bromley.
The park boasts lakes and over 100 species of trees, in fact it is a haven for nature lovers from all over the borough because of its huge number of bird species including many nesting herons which make their home on the largest lake island (aptly known as Heron Island!). There are also plenty of man-made ornamental areas including rockeries and a waterfall. There is an information centre in the park, open at weekends, for people who want to learn more about the park.
The park boasts many other facilities including sporting ones, with its tennis courts and mini golf course to children's facilities with the adventure playground complete with climbing net. There is also a cafe and full toilet and baby changing facilities.
The park is also popular for people who just want to take advantage of the wide open spaces, such as dog walkers, sunbathers and picnickers, though dog walkers beware that there are areas of the park which are dog free.
The park's main entrance is from Manor Way but it can also be accessed easily from Stone Park Avenue and Wickham Road.
