Queens Gardens - Bromley

Category: Parks & Gardens

Description:

Queens Gardens survived despite enormous building work at the end of the 1980's in order to construct the Kentish Way and the Glades Shopping Centre. The gardens are situated directly adjacent to the Glades Shopping Centre and although next to the busy road, provide a quiet tranquil setting in an urban landscaped garden.

There are a number of standout features of Queens Gardens, the ornamental flower beds are changed twice a year and one of the beds always takes on a theme, from dinosaurs to helicopters, as has been seen in the past. The gardens can also boast their own small maze.

Car parking is plentiful due to the proximity of the shopping centre, both in the Civic Centre and Glades main car parks are within sight of the gardens. The Glades Shopping Centre also provides toilet facilities.

If you tire of nature and fancy a bite to eat or a drink then the Belgian restaurant, Abbaye, can be found adjoining the gardens. A large menu with the obvious mussel options is backed up by a vast Belgian beer menu.
