These tranquil gardens can be accessed directly from the middle of the hustle and bustle of Bromley's busy High Street. The entrance can be found next to the Churchill Theatre and Bromley's main library. Entrances are also available in Ethelbert Road and Bromley High Street.The gardens are set on two levels over a total of 11 acres and are split into a number of areas. In the upper gardens you can find the flower beds which along with a gazebo and a stone balustrade you can view the lower gardens. The rockery is located below the stone balustrade and in spring is also alive with flowers. The main lake and amphitheatre (where various entertainment has been laid on over the years, such as bands and theatre performances) are the main attraction of the lower gardens, and is often alive with various birdlife such as ducks and geese.
The gardens also feature activities such as a children's play area and tennis facilities. The children's play area is fully equipped with climbing frames, a slide amongst other things; there are three tennis courts and two multipurpose courts offering basketball of football posts. These are free facilities and are available on a ‘turn up and play' basis.
