Description:
Farnborough is a small suburban Kent village situated in the London Borough of Bromley. Farnborough is a popular town name in the UK and it is not to be confused with the well known Farnborough in Hampshire or the lesser known towns in Berkshire and Warwickshire.Farnborough can easily be accessed by the 358 bus, though the nearest train stations are at Orpington and Chelsfield.
Farnborough is the home of the main hospital in the borough. Formerly called Farnborough Hospital (and still referred to by that name by many local people) it is now called the Princess Royal University Hospital or PRU for short. It has been the main borough hospital and the main accident and emergency department in the area since the closure of Bromley Hospital to make way for a housing development. The A&E department is designed to be easily accessible from the car park and local buses pull right up outside the hospital entrance.
Farnborough is home to some exclusive properties and its claim to fame is that it was one of the locations used by the ‘Footballer's Wives' television series.
