Description:
Bickley is predominately a residential area in the London Borough of Bromley. It's expensive, large detached houses align it much closer to its neighbour Chislehurst rather than Bromley itself. The town covers a fairly small geographical area but is fairly unique in the fact that almost its entirety is covered by residential dwellings and there is a noticeable lack of shops, businesses and even restaurants and pubs, The Bird in Hand being an exception to the latter. It does have a fair parade of shops in Southborough Lane, but although they are part of Bickley, they are considered to be part of the Bromley Common area.
Despite its lack of business activity it does have a train station which provides regular services to the many commuters travelling to central London stations including Victoria and Blackfriars. Most of Bickley is accessible on foot to Chislehurst Station and buses are available to Bromley North and South.
The Bickley Manor Hotel is an old period building set amongst landscaped gardens. It is a very popular local venue for weddings and events.
