Description:
The London Borough of Bromley is the largest London Borough and the town of Bromley is the administrative headquarters of it. As well as being a large town in south east London it is also a town with a Kent address and is very much part of the ‘Garden of England’.
The town centre of Bromley is split into two distinct areas, Bromley North and Bromley South, both of which are easily identifiable as the former is up the top of the hill that is Bromley High Street and the latter is at the bottom. Both of these areas have train stations with exactly the same names. The traditional centre of Bromley town centre has always been considered as Market Square, which can be found where Church Road meets the High Street. As well as the town centre split, there is also the suburban area of Bromley on the way towards Kent which has traditionally been known as Bromley Common but recently has partly become what is known as Chatterton Village.
Bromley has by far the most comprehensive shopping centre in the borough and is also one of the primary shopping centres for Kent and the South East, the other main rivals being Croydon and Bluewater. It contains over 400 shops and over 80 bars and restaurants. There are shops up from Bromley South Station and from halfway up the High Street is almost completely pedestrianised. Bromley can also boast one of the largest indoor shopping centres in the area. The Glades has over 17 million visitors a week and has 133 shops including 15 places to eat and drink. Public transport into Bromley for both train and bus is excellent but with over 6,000 parking spaces, 1,520 of this within the Glades own car park, Bromley is also easily accessible by car.

Bromley, as previously mentioned is also comprehensively served by two railway stations. Bromley South is the larger and busier of the two. To the south Bromley South serves large towns such as Orpington and Sevenoaks as well as coastal towns of Reigate and Folkestone.
