Bromley Common flood

Bit of excitement in the night!  Was woken up by police loud halers at 0220 this morning.  Upon struggling out of bed I was expecting to see armed police in the midst of a raid.  Instead I saw Salisbury Road turned into a river!

Was a little concerned as our insurance company has always said that they charge us such high premiums because we are on a flood plain.  But it traspired that the water was coming from a water main, the news coming from a neighbur who had ventured out.

Still, at one point the water was 2 inches from our side door and was n danger of poring into the footwell of the car, luckily the Mrs found her welies and was able to drive to 'higher ground'.

Absolutely knackered now!
