The Calendar Girls, Churchill Theatre

Calendar Girls at the Churchill Theatre last night was absolutely fabulous and if it wasn't a sold out event I would definitely be recommending it to everyone I know. 

The audience was mainly female but the men that were there did seem to enjoy it too!  The funny parts were hysterical; real laugh out loud stuff and the sad reality of why it all came about in the first place brought a tear to the eye on more than one occasion – the end scene with all the sunflowers was emotional. 

I never thought I'd ever be in a situation where I would be a few feet away from a virtually naked 'Madge' from Neighbours, 'Sharon & Laura' from Eastenders, 'Marlene' from Only Fools and Horses.  Not forgetting fantastic performances from Gemma Craven and the legendry Charlie Dimmock.  I had wondered how these well known actresses were going to get their kit off on stage without flashing all their bits but they managed it with true comic style - well done ladies you were amazing!
